Omega Speedmaster Professional 145.012-67 Buyer’s Guide
Longines has added a new dive watch to its Heritage collection, and this time, it's a chronograph. The new Longines Heritage Diver 1967 is a great-looking vintage-inspired piece that, as is all the rage these days, draws inspiration from a past Longines model. With classic good looks, strong proportions and an enthusiast-approved movement, the Longines Heritage Diver 1967 manages to standout in the crowd at Baselworld 2015.
Mechanical movement lovers with a place in their heart for affordable automatic watches that are made in Japan are likely going to have the same positive feelings I do for the new-for-2015 Citizen Signature Grand Classic 9184 that contains a brand new in-house made movement. Priced at just over ,000, this new Citizen-made movement will power this dressy yet legible timepiece with enough character to keep it from being boring and enough distinctness to make it different.
1990s era Roger Dubuis watches look tame by today's tastes, but at the time were very visually arresting. The brand took a much more bold direction after separating from its founder and slowly started to become the brand that it is today. Even so, I don't feel like Roger Dubuis has yet to find its comfort zone. I think Roger Dubuis knows what it is good at, but it doesn't know what to tell people it is good at, and how to visually express that. It will be interesting to see how the brand develops over the next few years as they hopefully develop a more distinct brand personality. For now, it is at least enjoyable to see them trying new things.
For many people, the Omega Globemaster Co-Axial Master Chronometer's most interesting story is in the movement. Here, Omega debuts the name "Co-Axial Master Chronometer" which more or less replaces "Master Co-Axial" that has been around for only a year. So if you have or want to get an Omega Master Co-Axial watch I have a feeling these are going to be collector's items because will not have been produced for too long. Why the name change? Well, the new Omega caliber 8900 movement family is the first to receive the Omega METAS accuracy certification which is what Co-Axial Master Chronometer. What does this mean? Allow me to explain.
